The Technologies:
We will explain the technologies, options and benefits of each, set out the pros and cons of each, so you can make the right decision on a system that meets all of your needs and suits your situation.
Unless you opt for a very basic Audible Only system, the kind of thing you can buy off the shelf in a DIY store, you will need a professional alarm installer, like us, to supply, install, set up and maintain your alarm system
Two Technologies Wired & Wireless:
Three basic Types:
Audible Only or Monitored:
National or Local Alarm Company:
Intruder and Hold-up Alarm System Grading
In conjunction with Insurance companies, Installers and European bodies the British Standards for Alarm Systems BS EN50131 & PD6662 now assign varying levels of Security:
Grade 1 Low risk
Grade 2 Medium risk
Grade 3 High Risk
Grade 4 Very high Risk
Grade 1 is aimed at homes in cities and towns in areas where the crime rate is low
Grade 2 is for homes and smaller commercial activities in areas where crime is known or there is a need for heightened security.
Grade 3 is targeted towards homes that have significant assets (e.g. a Van-Goch painting on the wall) and commercial premises with valuable stock or machinery.
Grade 4 is for banks and building societies.
You should always check with your insurer what Grade of system they require, ideally before calling us or definitely send then a copy of the quotation for them to confirm it is adequate.
Securitech Fire & Security take responsibility for every stage of your Intruder Alarm System, including site surveys, design, installation and ongoing maintenance.
